Re: Dcc Bus resister

Hi
As Steve has said, what you're referring to is a DCC filter or 'snubber' by another name. It consists of a 120 to 150 Ohm 2 watt or 3 watt resistor and a 0.1uF ceramic capacitor wired together in series then across the end of the DCC bus pair. Note: a Bus filter isn't a necessity, but can help ...

Re: The Controllers & Circiuts I've Built

I also built simple DC train controllers (2 off) using instead of 2N3055 I used a MJ2501 mounted on a suitable heatsink. Worked extremely well on an exhibition layouts fiddle yard.

Re: Dcc Bus resister

Hi
A DCC Bus pair of wires can be a Ring - continuous two loops of wire, Radial - end to end or Star - pairs of wires running out in all directions.

If the correct size of wire is used for the bus IMO a ring is just wasteful on wire. Radial or Star will work as well and saves on bus wire.

On a ...

Re: Dcc Bus resister

Hi
14AWG (approx. equal to 2.0mm2 metric) will carry around 12 to 15 Amps and should be fine, while droppers of 20AWG (approx. 0.5mm2 metric) is a good choice. I doubt 14AWG over the distance mentioned would produce much volt drop, if any! Dont forget that the rails also carry current too. ;)

I ...

Re: Roco 35900 Turntable Issue

I assume you are using the Combi 16 volt AC output to power the TT?
Wago blocks are not elecrtrically seperate on each terminal, they have an internal bus bar linking all their terminals together.

TD has beeten me to the Wago comment ;)

Re: Roco 35900 Turntable Issue

The wires shown in the Wago are all connected together by the Wagos internal bus bar. Each of the coloured wires are seperate feeds/circuits and they are all being shorted together. For a three wire connection joint, three seperarate Wago blocks are needed. Two way ones would do or use three way ...
