Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!
I have just fitted a HM7000 sound decoder to an old re-built Merchant Navy Class, surprisingly it all went into the loco boiler, including the speaker. It sounds great.

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!
Sweet !
I don't suppose you took pics of where and how in case someone fancies doing the same sometime ?
I must admit I usually prefer to see if I can find a tender fitting version of whatever loco I am trying to obtain to keep life easy !

Hello all,
With overhead tracks what would the ground work consist of. I have been scouring model magazines for look but none actually show the ground work itself.

Re: WEST ORTON
I temporarily evicted the family of penguins that found the temperature in the shed to their liking to have a fiddle with a troublesome loco.
I bought a secondhand Royal Scot earlier in the year but last week it wouldn't run more than a couple of inches before the valvegear started binding. I found ...

Re: Fundamental question on track quality
As per usual, 'life in general' has got in the way of progress! However before we up the detailing am giving the trackwork a good workout. Have to say it runs very well. Gonna do a few hours of standard running, pointwork tests etc. Definitely feel I need to get the electrics and track right before ...

Re: WEST ORTON
An unintended purchase (damn you Hornby with your special offers!😉)
Thompson L1 in BR black.
It's been sitting on the bench for a few days due to a rather nasty bout of flu which seems to have triggered more than the usual level of aches and pains.
I've always liked the big tank engines and this ...

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!
The retaining walls are only Metcalfe card kits, to which, sometime ago, I added small LED lights into the top of each arch. It caused a few amusing comments at the time.
