When coming across YT articles regards layouts if the term “railroad” is used I generally assume it is a US layout.

I do not know what the Tasmanian climate is but here in soggy Blighty metal sheds are notorious for condensation problems and oven like temperatures in the brief dry period we call summer. Both extremes are not good for a layout.

Look at Scale Scenes website, they sell downloadable kits which you print out on your home printer. The downside is that they are more work compared to the more popular Metcalf and Superquick ranges in that unless your printer can print on card directly you have to print on ordinary paper and glue ...
